Real Estate Across Legal Boundaries
Real estate rarely exists in a legal vacuum. A property may be part of a divorce, held by a business, transferred through a trust or estate, burdened by debt, or located in another state. Each circumstance can raise different questions about ownership, transfer, valuation, creditor rights, probate, and the documents needed to accomplish the client's goals. Property in more than one state adds another layer, with different state laws and procedures potentially applying to the same overall matter.
Because my practice includes real estate, family law, business law, bankruptcy, wills, trusts and estates—and because I am licensed in California, Idaho, and Nevada—I can identify how those issues intersect and address them as part of a coordinated strategy. When a matter requires tax expertise or counsel in another jurisdiction, I can also identify that need and work with the appropriate professional.
